State law requires that within 45 days of filing, the registrant must publish a statement in a newspaper of general circulation once a week for four consecutive weeks in the county which the principal place of business is located. A renewal does not require publication.

A Fictitious Business Name Statement expires five years from the date it is filed with the County Clerk.
A renewal of a fictitious business name statement must be filed prior to the date of expiration if you intend to continue doing business under that name and if there are no changes from the original.
For changed information choose Amendment in the same official portal; when use ends, follow the separate abandonment instructions and publication requirement.
Persons or business entities doing business under a fictitious name who wishes to no longer do business under a previously filed fictitious business name statement. A Statement of Abandonment must be filed on an active Fictitious Business Name Statement. Publication is required.
